A Bristol woman is dead after being struck by a mini van backing out of a driveway on Saturday morning.
According to Bristol officials, Virginia Gerulis, 75, was walking south on Clark Ave when Thomas Derosier, 80, struck her as he was backing his 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan out of the driveway.
Numerous 911 calls were made around 11:18 a.m. and Bristol EMS, Police and Fire responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, officers found Gerulis pinned under the mini van. She was then transported to Bristol Hospital and later died of her injuries.
The Bristol Police Department’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team was called in to investigate.
No charges have been filed and the accident remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact Officer Todd Kozaryn of the Traffic Division at 860-584-3036.
