A 12-year-old Newtown boy turned himself in Monday on a warrant for sex assault. This is the second time he has been charged with sex assault, police said.
Between October and November, he touched several girls while on a school bus, police said.
Four students complained the boy inappropriately touched them on the bus, Leonard Penna, Newtown Middle School resource officer, told the Newstimes.
The charges were filed on Jan. 19. He is due in to appear in court in Danbury on Feb. 2.
Penna, who is in his first year as a school resource officer, told the Newstimes that this is the first time he has heard of incidents like this happening on a town school bus.
In December, the boy was charged with three counts of sexual assault in December, police said.
