The won't be any foreclosures for Webster Bank customers, at least for three months.

The Waterbury-based bank is putting a halt on home foreclosures for three months and will also expand mortgage assistance programs to help keep families in their homes.

Programs could include a reduction in payments, a lower interest rate for some customers, or an extension on the loan term to lower payments.

The moratorium on foreclosures would apply to qualified homeowners who were more than 30 days delinquent on their mortgages as of Nov. 4.
