Better Business Bureau Lists Worst Passwords

The Better Business Bureau released a list of the worst passwords for 2015, advising anyone who uses weak passwords to change them immediately.

The passwords on the list are:

  • 12345
  • qwerty
  • 12345678
  • password
  • 123456

The BBB made the list in part to help combat the millions of stolen identity cases every year.

To create a stronger password, the agency suggests having different passwords for each of your accounts, then writing each of them down and keeping that list somewhere safe.

Experts also urge users to create a password with at least eight characters with letters, numbers and special characters.

Also, consider using two-step verification. It adds another layer of security by sending a code to the user’s cell phone during each login. Hackers would need users’ password and phone in order to break into an account.
