Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to give the keynote address at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy graduation in New London in May.
Coast Guard Academy officials say Biden will speak at the 132nd commencement exercises May 22 on Cadet Memorial Field. Admission to the 11 a.m. ceremony is by invitation only.
The vice president gave the keynote speech at the U.S. Military Academy graduation in West Point last year.
The superintendent of the Coast Guard Academy, Rear Adm. Sandra Stosz, says commencement is always a special time, but Biden's visit will make this year's graduation more memorable. She also says it will be a good opportunity to showcase the academy and the city of New London.
