Black Friday In Full Swing in Connecticut

Tens of thousands hit stores across Connecticut Friday in the hopes of finding bargains on their holiday shopping.

Black Friday even began early for some, who lined up outside Target, Walmart and a few other retailers that opened Thanksgiving night.

Some shoppers at Best Buy on Universal Drive in North Haven bypassed Thanksgiving altogether. Chad Stone lined up at 5:00 a.m. Thursday.

"Plan ahead, you have to," said Stone, of Guilford.

Richard Santini from New Haven made a mad dash to the Toy "R" Us in the same shopping plaza. He was second in line and got his WII universe for his kids. He thinks lining up early was a little crazy but agreed to do it after Football and turkey.

"Yeah, this is my dessert after Thanksgiving. No pumpkin pie. I eat the turkey and come right here for dessert and burn some calories standing in line hopefully," said Santini.
