Arrest Made in Hartford's First Homicide of 2013

Hartford Police have arrested a suspect in the city's first homicide of 2013.

The body of Sawarie Krichindath, 59, was discovered on Saturday afternoon inside 76 Main Street and police said she is the victim of a domestic-violence homicide.

She was stabbed to death, according to the medical examiner's office, and police have arrested Krichindath's boyfriend, Robert White, 52, of Hartford.

The couple lived together, according to police, who arrested White on Sunday.

He has been charged with murder and is being held on $1million bond and police said he confesses to the crime.

He is scheduled to be arraigned in Hartford Superior Court on Monday.

Police have not released a motive, but said Krichindath was stabbed several times.
