Police are investigating after a woman's body was found off South Water Street in New London.
The woman has been identified as Katie Valvo, 29. Her last known address is in Otis, Massachusetts.
Someone walked into the police department at 7:45 a.m. to report that a woman’s body was under the pier in the rocky area of a waterfront park.
Valvo was pronounced dead at the scene.
The state medical examiners office has tentatively ruled the woman's death as accidental. An exact caused has not been determined and the toxicology tests are not yet available.
