Body Found in Upstate NY Lake ID'd as Connecticut Man

The body of a Connecticut man has been found in an Adirondack lake where he had gone swimming near his seasonal home, authorities said.

Officials tell The Post-Star of Glens Falls that the body of William D. Wallace Jr. was found around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The body was submerged in 7 feet of water about 900 feet from shore on the northern end of Lake George in the Essex County town of Ticonderoga, 85 miles north of Albany.

A search was launched around 7 p.m. when family members reported he hadn't returned from swimming near his lakeside home. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ticonderoga police are investigating the case as an apparent drowning and are awaiting results of an autopsy.

Police say Wallace's hometown isn't immediately available.
