911 Call Mom Accused of Leaving Boy Alone at Casino Faces Judge

Boy called 911 after mom left him in room at Mohegan Sun, police said.

A New York mom whose son called 911 to report that she had left him alone at a hotel room at Mohegan Sun is being held on $150,000 bond.

Police arrested Xiao Xu Wu, 38, of New York, on Tuesday after her 5-year-old son called 911 around 11:30 a.m. to say he’d been left alone, state police said.

Mohegan Sun released the 911 call on Wednesday. In it, the little boy remains calm and said his mother left to go get him toys.

When police fingerprinted Wu and checked her record, they found a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer and an arrest warrant on counterfeiting charges out of Rocky Mount North Carolina.

Wu appeared in court on Wednesday and used a Mandarin interpreter. 

The Rocky Mount Telegram reports that a Xiao Xu Wu was arrested after police seized more than $1 million in counterfeit Louis Vuitton purses and belts, Nike and Timberland shoes and other items.

In Connecticut, Wu was charged with risk of injury to a minor and is being held at York Correctional Institution on $200,000 bond.The state Department of Children and Families took the boy into custody.

She also has an adult child living in Michigan, according to information released in court.

Mohegan Sun released a statement saying they have " no tolerance policy for things of this nature."

"Here at Mohegan Sun we do everything we can to provide the opportunity for all guests to act responsibly. When it comes to childcare, we have multiple options available for guests including Kids Quest and Cyber Quest facilities. We have a no tolerance policy for things of this nature and are cooperating fully with all authorities on this matter."
