Boys & Girls Village in Milford was evacuated Thursday morning after an employee received a text with a threat, according to police. Boys & Girls Village facilities were checked and there was no threat, according to police.

An employee of the Boys & Girls Village location on Wheelers Farm Road received a text around 9 a.m. that said to get out of the building because it was going to blow up, according to police.

The public relations firm for the school said the staff received the message about an explosive device at one of the facilities, immediately notified police, and evacuated the facilities. Law enforcement checked the buildings and determined they were clear, so students and staff were allowed to return.

Investigators said the threat appears to have come from a parent whose child was denied admission, but the investigation is ongoing.
