Bradley Airport Warns of Longer Wait Times

Vacation-week travelers will mean longer security lines.

The wait time to board a flight might be longer than usual this week at Bradley Airport.

Airport administrators expects an increase in traffic due to schools across the state being on vacation.

"In order to best serve our passengers traveling to and from Bradley over the next 10 days, we recommend that you arrive at the Airport at least 90 minutes in advance of your scheduled flight time," said Connecticut Airport Authority Chair Mary Ellen Jones in a news release.

Bradley Airport's website says there are two “peak periods” for increased wait times in security lines. Between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m., the average wait time is 30 minutes, and between 1:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., passengers can expect to wait about 20 minutes, the airport said.

The Transportation Security Administration estimates that 1.7 million passengers will be screened daily at airports nationwide during the spring break period. The TSA website has an application that allows passengers to report their security checkpoint wait times.
