Bridgeport Family Displaced by Heavy Fire

Five people, including two children, are without a home after a fire destroyed their house in the North End of Bridgeport on Wednesday morning.

Fire officials arrived at 478 Woodrow Avenue to find the front of the raised ranch consumed by flames. Authorities said a pickup truck parked outside was also on fire, authorities said.

The fire burned through the roof of the house and heavily damaged the home. Of the three adults and two children who lived there, no one was injured, fire officials said.

After the flames were stamped out, firefighters managed to salvage keepsakes and other family belongings.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
