Bridgeport police say a fatal hit-and-run crash that happened Saturday has been ruled a homicide.

Police say the incident happened on Wordin Avenue near Howard Avenue around 1:25 p.m. and involved a tractor trailer. The victim of the crash has been identified as Ricardo Rose, 56, of Prospect Street in Bridgeport.

The driver and the vehicle involved were located early Sunday morning at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. The suspect reportedly confessed. According to police, the incident started as an argument over money the suspect owed the victim for drugs. The suspect refused to pay and forced the victim out of the truck, then ran him over.

An arrest warrant is forthcoming. The suspect has not been publicly identified at this time.
