Manchester High School was placed in a “soft lockdown” for a short period of time on Thursday morning as police were arresting a person nearby who had a gun.
Police were pursuing a suspect on Summit Street, near the high school, around 9 a.m.
The lockdown lasted a few minutes, according to officials from the office of the Manchester Supt. of schools.
Police made an arrest. The suspect is not a student and the incident did not happen on school grounds, officials said.
