Bristol police have released the 911 tapes of a call that followed the hit-and-run crash earlier this month that left a teenager dead.
Henry Waye, 14, was struck and killed by a white truck on March 6 as he and a friend walked their bikes along George Street, police said.
The caller identified himself as Waye's friend:
Caller: "My friend just got hit by a car."
Operator: "Is he hurt?"
Caller: "I don't know. He's just laying there unconscious. ... He flew, like a good 50 feet."
Waye's friend was able to give police a description of the vehicle involved.
Police found a white truck that matched that description, and had front-end damage, parked in a driveway just up the street from the accident. The truck was impounded but no one has been arrested in connection with the accident.
