Brookfield High School Students Dismissed Early Over Bomb Threat

Students at Brookfield High School were dismissed early Thursday after someone found a bomb threat written on a wall in one of the girls' bathrooms, according to school officials.

The school went into lockdown at 9:30 a.m. School officials decided to dismiss the students for the day at 10:30 a.m., with the input of police and the fire department, so authorities could investigate.

All after-school activities have been canceled, but Supt. John Barile said in a letter to parents some coaches may plan sports practices at alternate locations.

According to Barile, the building has been deemed safe and school will be in session Friday.

"The police continue to investigate this matter and the party responsible will be held accountable," according to Barile.
