Canton Teen Asks Taylor Swift to Prom

Kyle Mullins is using social media with the hope of being noticed by the Grammy-winning singer.

A Canton teenager is using social media to create his own "Love Story" for his prom this May.

Kyle Mullins, a senior at Canton High School, wants to take Taylor Swift to his Senior Prom. Mullins posted a photo on Facebook on Sunday, asking the Grammy-winning recording artist to be his date.

A Facebook page has been created to help Mullins get Swift's attention. He posted a picture of himself holding a sign reading "Dear Taylor Swift, Happy Easter and PROM??" Mullins included the date of the dance, May 17, and the line "It's a love story, baby just say yes," which is a lyric from Swift's mega-hit "Love Story." The page had nearly 800 "likes" by Tuesday.

He said he is also in the middle of shooting a video to post online.

Mullins has reached out to Swift through her Facebook page but hasn't made contact with the singer, according to a friend of Mullins.

Several stars have been asked to proms and other dances through social media in the past.  Actress Mila Kunis attended a Marine Corps Ball after being asked by a Marine Sgt. via YouTube.

Justin Timberlake got his own YouTube invitation from a Marine Corporal and agreed to attend a ball with her a week before Kunis' event.

Last month, a Los Angeles teen used YouTube to ask Sports Illustrated cover model Kate Upton to his prom.  Upton said she was flattered, but wasn't sure her "hectic" schedule would allow her to attend the dance in May.
