Cleaning Lady Stole from Elderly Woman: Cops

South Windsor police have arrested a cleaning lady who is accused of stealing more than $1,000 from an elderly client.

Police received a complaint in April alleging that Kristen Kelleher, 33, of Wethersfield, stolen $1,650 from an elderly local woman who had hired her to clean the apartment, police said.

The victim’s family members said Kelleher had forged several checks made out to herself and cashed them, according to police.

Officers arrested her after reviewing financial documents.

Kelleher was arrested on a warrant on Monday and charged with sixth-degree larceny, third-degree identity theft and second-degree forgery.

She was held on $10,000 surety bond and appeared in Manchester Superior Court on Tuesday.

Online court records say Kelleher remains in police custody and no attorney is listed.
