Cocky King of Craps Gets 10 Years

Tennessee man was convicted in a Foxwoods' plot

The only people the “best dice player in the world,” is going to be testing his skill with are Connecticut’s convicts.

Richard “Mr. Casino” Taylor was sentenced Friday to 10 years in prison for masterminding a craps conspiracy in 2007 that ruined several careers and cost Foxwoods Casino about $70,000, the Day of New London reports.

Before he learned his fate, the cocky king of craps proclaimed himself the best player in the world and said he was innocent, the Day reports.

Taylor, 43, of Memphis, Tennessee, maintained his innocence, called the Foxwoods employees liars and refused a deal to plead guilty and take a four-year sentence, the newspaper reports.

“Yes, I played at the casino,” he said. “I won and I lost. I am the best dice player in the world, period. And I do not cheat.”

Several dealers were also part of the scheme and allowed late bets at the craps table, officials said.

Taylor had been convicted of larceny, conspiracy, cheating and other charges.
