Commuter Robbed at Knifepoint Near Fairfield Train Station

A man was robbed at knifepoint while walking home from the Fairfield Metro Station on Tuesday night.

Police said the man was walking home from the train station around midnight, after getting out of work, when a man confronted him on Kings Highway under the Interstate 95 underpass, across from the Staples Plaza.

The victim said he was using a flashlight to see where he was walking when a man in a black hooded sweatshirt and khaki pants grabbed his silver Apple iPhone 6S, which was in a teal case.

The victim held onto the phone and the two struggled.

The victim was then brought to Saint Vincent’s Hospital to be treated for a minor cut on his left leg.

Police searched the area for the robbery, but lost the track at the train station. The man’s hood was up, covering his head and face.

Police are investigating.
