The weather is not ideal for a day at the beach.
Compo Beach and Burying Hill Beach in Westport are closed on Tuesday at the direction of the Westport-Weston Health Department because of heavy rains on Monday night.
All public beaches in Fairfield are also closed to swimmers Tuesday. Lake Mohegan will be closed today and tomorrow as heavy storms move in, according to the Fairfield Health Department.
The Westport and Fairfield beaches are expected to reopen on Wednesday.
