Resident Helps Norwich Police Solve Burglary Spree

Police received a tip from a resident about people breaking into homes.

Norwich police caught two suspected burglars in the act, all thanks to a tip from a concerned resident.

Detectives began to keep a close eye on a vehicle after someone called the department and said the occupants had been breaking into homes.

While following the vehicle, police were able to catch two men in the act of breaking into a home while the owner was away, police said.

Police arrested Jose Rivera, 28, of Norwich, and David Morales, 32, also of Norwich. Both were being held on $100,000 bond and were scheduled to be in court Wednesday.

Police said they were able to recover hand tools, power tools, camera equipment, collectible coins and loose change, all valued at over $570.

Police are still investigating recent burglaries and expect to make more arrests.
