Conn. Casinos Report Decline in Revenue

Numbers show that slot revenue slipped last month at both Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Resort Casino.

Mohegan Sun, located in Uncasville, reported its September revenue to be $49.9 million, representing a $4.8 million decline.

Total wagering at Mohegan Sun was also down $49 million since this time last year, representing a decline of 7 percent.

Foxwoods in Mashantucket reported a revenue of $44.8 million in September, down $1.5 million from its 2012 numbers.

Total wagering at Foxwoods came out to $508.1 million, also 7 percent decrease.

Pressure from competing casinos around the Northeast, particularly in New York, and a weakened economy have reduced spending at both Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Resort Casino.
