Connecticut Among Least Religious States

We're not very religious in Connecticut.

If you live here in Connecticut, you are among the least religious people in the country, at least, according to a new Gallup poll.

The poll found only 31 percent of Connecticut residents describe themselves as “very religious.”

All six New England states made the top-10 list of least religious and Vermont residents are the least religious in the country -- 58 percent said they are nonreligious.
There no need to be discouraged about the religious state of the country, according to Gallup. 
“American remains a generally religious nation, with more than two-thirds of the nation’s residents classified as very or moderately religious,” according to Gallup.
Political beliefs also tend to influence how religious a state is.
The most religious states in the country are the most Republican, and the least religious states tend to be more Democratic.
The most religious states is Mississippi, followed by Utah.
