    This map shows corporations that have announced major layoffs or closures. These announcements are all in 2009, and the map will be updated continually to reflect new job losses.

    Data is from the Connecticut Department of Labor's Monthly WARN Reports and news media accounts.  Larger companies are required to file Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification reports 60 days prior to closing or laying off a large portion of employees.
