Man to Be Sentenced for Motorcycle Club Murder

Former Watertown man faces sentencing for a conviction in 2008 murder.

Kevin Campbell, a former Waterbury man who was convicted of the murder of a fellow motorcycle club member, will be sentenced on Monday.

Campbell, 56, claimed it was an accidental shooting outside the group's headquarters in Torrington in 2008.

Witnesses said Lagasse got into a fight with Campbell's brother about whether a new club member should receive his first-year patch. Campbell testified he pulled a gun on Lagasse in self-defense and it fired by accident.

The was the second trial for the death of Roland Lagasse, 51, who was president of the Forbidden Motorcycle club.

The first trial ended in a hung jury. Campbell faces 25 to 60 years in prison when he is sentenced April 10.
