Cops: Man Threatened to Shoot Over Barking

He was angry when the dog ran up to him and barked, police said.

A Bridgeport man was arrested on charges he threatened to shoot his neighbors over a barking Chihuahua.

Clifford Carty, 34, was working outside his home on Pearl Harbor Street when the dog ran up to him and began to bark, police said.

The Connecticut Post reports that Carty allegedly became enraged and threatened to get a gun and "shoot up" the home from which the dog had come.

Carty acknowledged threatening the dog's owners, police said, but told them he didn't own a gun.

He was arrested on Wednesday, charged with second-degree threatening and will be arraigned on Aug. 10.
