Cops: Odor of Urine Was “Overwhelming”

Police said they found heroin for sale in the house and made three arrests.

Middletown police made three arrests after searching a house they said was in “utter disarray” and the state Department of Children and Families is investigating because of the living conditions for three young children.

The Street Crime Unit executed a search and seizure warrant at the house on Thursday after receiving several complaints from neighbors, police said.

In the house, police found 26 bags of heroin packaged for sale and a stun gun, police said.

There was food, garbage, clothing, insects, knives and drug paraphernalia throughout the residence, all of which was accessible to the children – a 5 year old and two 3 year olds, police said.

Police said the odor of urine coming from the children’s bedroom at 280 South Main St. was “overwhelming.”

In an upstairs bedroom and attic, police said they found a small amount of marijuana, glassine bags, wax paper folds, cutting agents, scales, razors, grinders, a sifter and a police scanner.

One resident, Gregory Field, refused detectives' commands and refused to comply as he was being taken into custody, police said.

Field is being held on a $150,000 bond and was charged with several drug violations, three counts of risk of injury to a minor and criminal possession of an electronic defense weapon.

Field’s girlfriend, Evelyn Parker, 44, was held on a $25,000 bond and charged with several drug violations and three counts of risk of injury to a minor.

Parker’s daughter, Carlessie Parker, 24, was charged with three counts of risk of injury to a minor.

Police called the state Department of Children and Families because of the living conditions.
