Part of Route 79 in Madison is closed after what officials are calling a major accident involving a dump truck.
The Facebook account for Madison 911 says the crash is at Durham Road, or Route 79, and County Road and it might take several hours to clean up crushed stone and diesel fuel.
Northbound traffic is being diverted at Cross Road and southbound traffic is being diverted at Route 148 at the Killingworth town line.
