Crews Put Out Second-Alarm Fire in Hartford

The Hartford Fire Department responded to a house ablaze on Thursday night.

Capt. Raul Ortiz said crews were called to the second-alarm fire around 5:23 p.m.

Firefighters had some issues gaining entry into the house because the home was remodeled and the unusual layout made it difficult to navigate or breach walls, Ortiz said.

Ortiz said everyone in the house was accounted for.

One firefighter sustained a small burn on his face, the fire captain said.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
