Dad Gets 14 Years For Gruesome Luggage

A New London dad who carried his dead son’s remains in a suitcase will be spending some time in his own little box – a prison cell.

Police found the gruesome contents of Allen James’ luggage in 2003 when a cop pulled him over for a traffic violation.

Inside the suitcase, police found the remains of Alquan White, who is believed to have died in 2000 or 2001 when he was 2 or 3 years old.

The suitcase is not the only gory part of the case. Prosecutors say James, 43, told police he manhandled the boy and threw him across the room, then left the body in his bed for days. He allegedly also tried to burn the remains, then dismembered the body and carried it in the suitcase for years.

James was sentenced Friday to 14 years in prison. He was convicted in November of first-degree manslaughter.
