Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Mansfield

    Police investigate the scene where a car collided with a motorcycle on Route 44 in Mansfield, killing the motorcycle rider.

    A 59-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Route 44 in Mansfield Wednesday afternoon.

    State police said the victim, Brian Bonvisuto of Waterbury, was pronounced dead at Windham Hospital after the crash.

    The crash happened in front of a Marty's Service Center at 575 Middle Turnpike around 3 p.m., police said.

    The driver of a Toyota Camry was turning left into the service station and was struck by the motorcycle, according to investigators. The driver of the car was not hurt, police said.

    Route 44 was closed while police investigated the crash.

    Bonvituo was wearing a helmet. State police are still investigating.
