The Wolcott Dog Pound is under quarantine after three dogs tested positive for the Parvovirus.
Wolcott police said a 1-year old Lab mix developed Parvovirus symptoms, test results came back positive for the disease on March 2 and the dog had to be euthanized.
The dog pound and all the equipment was sanitized with using Nutra-Quat, a cleaning agent recommended to eliminate Parvovirus in kennels, but the virus can incubate in dogs up to 7 to 10 days and two more dogs tested positive for the virus on March 8 and had to be euthanized.
The Wolcott Dog Pound will be under quarantine until March 22 as long as there are no additional outbreaks of Parvo.
