Domestic Issue, Shots Fired Prompts Large Police Response in Meriden

There is a heavy police presence on Curtis Street in Meriden Wednesday after a domestic issue led to shots fired.

Meriden police said they were called to the area of Curtis Street near Markham Place for a report of numerous shots fired. They found a male victim outside a home, suffering non-life threatening injuries. This is a domestic issue, according to police.

Officials said the male suspect is not in custody at this time. The victim and suspect are both known to police, and police say there is no threat to public safety at this time.

Multiple agencies, including Connecticut State Police, are on scene and the area around two homes is taped off. Curtis Street is closed in the area.

An NBC Connecticut crew on scene reported multiple police officers with long guns on scene, and K9 units.
