A 50-year-old New London man has been arrested, accused of going into a 10-year-old girl’s bedroom, dropping his pants and telling her to leave with him.
The girl told police that she was sleeping in her bed when she felt someone rub her back, the Day of New London reports. When she looked up, she saw a bearded man, who proceeded to drop his pants and say, “Come with me. Don’t be afraid.”
She ran to her parents’ room and the man left through the back-door, the newspaper reports.
Police arrested Wilfredo Garcia Tuesday, the Day reports.
He has been charged with criminal attempt to commit first-degree kidnapping, criminal attempt to commit fourth-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor, first-degree burglary and possession of burglary tools. He is being held on a $500,000 bond and his fingerprints are being evaluated by the F.B.I. to confirm his identity.
