Don't Brace for Impact, This is Just a Test

If you're driving by Bradley Airport Saturday morning and see the wreckage of a plane and people walking around covered in blood, don't worry -- it's a drill.

Police, fire and rescue teams from across the state will fake a plane crash at Bradley Saturday at 8:30 a.m.  The staging area will be near Route 75 in Windsor Locks.

The F.A.A. requires drills like this every three years.  The goals are to test the airport's emergency plan, mass casualty management and communications between emergency agencies.

And to scare the dickens out of neighbors.

So don't panic, and don't call your local news station. Unless you see something like this at any other time -- in which case, they'll be well prepared to respond.
