A driver was arrested after nearly hitting a Meriden police officer who had responded to an earlier accident.
The officer was at the scene of a crash between a pickup truck and a CT Transit bus at the intersection of Chamberlain Highway and Kensington Avenue on Sunday morning.
The accident was minor and there were no serious injuries, police said.
But the officer who was at the scene was nearly hit by another vehicle as it drove by, according to police.
The driver of that vehicle was arrested. Police did not release any details on the identity of that person or what charges the driver is facing.
