Kevin Vary intentionally drove his truck into the building, police said.

Police have charged a Norwich man with intentionally ramming his pickup truck into the Norwich Police headquarters.

Kevin Vary, 51, of Norwich, drove his full-size Chevrolet pickup into the front doors of the police station at 70 Thames St, just after 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to police. The truck broke through the station's exterior glass doors and caused extensive damage, police said.

After a brief investigation, police said the crash was no accident and that Vary purposely smashed his truck into the building. It was not clear what led Vary to drive into the police station.

He is facing charges of reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and reckless driving.

No one was hurt during the incident.
