Second Man Dies from Middletown Crash

A weekend crash in Middletown has now claimed two lives.

Nathan Bushnell, 20, of Middletown, has died from injuries sustained during a one-car crash on Middlefield Street around 11 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Bushnell was in critical condition over the weekend. On Monday morning, police said he had passed away.

Ryan Weckesser, 18, of Durham, died on Saturday.

The car they were in allegedly struck Fleetwood Auto, the Middletown Press reports.

Francis Gervasio, 19, of Middletown, is in critical condition, according to police.

Justin Conway, 20, of Middletown, is in stable condition, police said.

On Sunday, local priests asked parishioners to pray for the crash victims.

Over the weekend, teens gathered at the crash site.

“(Weckesser) was a person you could always talk to,” Stephanie Archer told the Hartford Courant. “He was a great friend and a great person.”

Police are investigating and said Sunday afternoon that they are not sure on who was sitting where. The cause of the crash and circumstances surrounding it are being investigated.
