Police Release Name of 1 Hartford Weekend Shooting Victim

Hartford Police are investigating shootings that left two men dead over the weekend.

One Monday afternoon, police identified on victim as Bruno Lugo, 32, of Hartford. 

Lugo was shot and appeared to have been struck by a car, police said.

Police found Lugo on Orange Street when they responded to the city’s South End early Saturday morning for a report of shots fired. Lugo was transported to St. Francis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later, according to Hartford Police Assistant Chief Brian Heavren.

Police also responded early Sunday morning to 1830 Broad St., where they found an unresponsive male lying on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The male was taken to Hartford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. His name has not been released.

The Hartford Police Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigators are investigating.
