East Hartford police are investigating a carjacking that left one man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The incident occurred on Simmons Road near the Interstate 84 overpass around 6:04 p.m. Saturday, according to police. The victim, identified only as a male from Florida, reported he was carjacked and shot.
He was treated for a gunshot wound and police say his injuries were not life-threatening.
The stolen car is described as a black four-door Volvo with Florida dealer plates. Anyone with information should contact East Hartford police at 860 528 4401.
