East Lyme High School Closed Monday After Water Line Ruptures

East Lyme High School will be closed Monday after a water line ruptured, according to East Lyme Public Safety.

School officials confirmed the building would be closed to students Monday. All other East Lyme Public Schools remain open.

The rupture did not damage the building but the school will not have heat or hot water while crews make repairs to the line.

The high school is a polling location and officials expect an update midday Monday on whether the building will be accessible Tuesday.

More information was not available.

Editor's note: The superintendent's office initially said it was an oil line that ruptured, however public safety officials later confirmed it was a water line that caused the issue. This story has been updated to reflect that information.
