East Windsor Couple Struggles to Get Washer and Dryer Rebate

Many manufacturers offer rebates to help customers save cash, but in some cases, it might not be that easy to get the money.

Sal Saitta, of East Windsor, and his wife found the perfect washer and dryer at a local retailer, but they tell NBC Connecticut that going through the process was a bit stressful.

Saitta said he had a dispute over the purchase he made in March.

He told NBC Connecticut that he bought a Samsung washer and dryer, which included a $150 rebate from the manufacturer, Enervee.

Saitta indicated he followed the instructions by filling out the form and emailing it with his receipts to the company.

The company sent an email confirming it received his paperwork, but when Saitta reached out again for an update, the company only confirmed that it got his documentation.

A company representative from Enervee informed NBC Connecticut Responds that they would work directly with Saitta to remedy the situation, but didn’t say why there was a delay with his rebate.

Saitta said the Enervee representatives confirmed his address and mailed the $150 rebate to his home.

If customers find themselves in a similar situation, here are some things that might help:

  • Keep all the receipts for the items they plan on sending for a rebate check.
  • Send in rebates as quickly as possible. Many companies have a deadline for documentation.
  • Save the packaging and the product box. If a UPC code is required.
  • Always sort the mail carefully. Many rebate checks look like junk mail.
  • Make copies of the application.
  • Have the right phone numbers in case you need to follow up.

NBC Connecticut reached out to Enervee to see if they had any additional comment on this issue and we are waiting to hear back.
