    Crowds Flock to New Britain Meat Shop for Easter Kielbasa

    Kielbasa from Martin Rosol's in New Britain is an Easter tradition for many families, and people lined up Friday morning to be sure to get the meat that’s become a tradition for the holiday dinner.

    Kielbasa from Martin Rosol's in New Britain is an Easter tradition for many families and people lined up Friday morning to be sure to get the meat that’s become a tradition for the holiday dinner. 

    Wayne Nokes, of Bristol, was the first person in line at Martin Rosol’s and said he’s first every year because he get to the business by 4:30 or 5 a.m., hours before it opens at 7:30 a.m. 

    “I am number one in line - have been for the last 20 years - first one. I come every year for the Easter kielbasa. It's the best in the state,” Nokes said. 

    This year he planned to buys 15 rings for his friends and family.

    Martin Rosol's has been open from more than 80 years and the spice blend for the Easter kielbasa brings Nokes back year after year. 

    That blend of spices also brought Don Dube from Unionville. He arrived at 6 a.m. 

    “It's the best. It's tasty. It’s got the right spices, not too dry - not too moist, just right,” he said. 

    Martin Rosol’s is located at 45 Grove St. in New Britain.
