Amber Alert Canceled

An Amber Alert issued in Eastern New York is canceled.

Authorities in eastern New York had issued an Amber Alert for a father they say took his child from daycare after a physical fight with the mother and the alert was extended into Connecticut, according to state police.

Police said Frederick McCluskey, 27, abducted his 4-year-old son, also named Frederick, just before 9 a.m. on Friday in the Ulster County town of Marlboro and has threatened to hurt himself or the child.

The child is safe and the father is in custody, according to police. No information was immediately available on where the father and son were found.

Authorities said McCluskey was driving a red, 2-door 1989 Honda Civic hatchback with the New York plate FHX9276.

Marlboro is located about 45 miles north and west of Danbury.

More information will be posted once it becomes available.
