Dinosaurs will once again roam the earth this summer.
The arena show, "Walking With Dinosaurs," based on the award-winning BBC television series, is making a stop in Hartford at the XL Center as part of its North American tour.
For eight shows in August, crowds will be wowed by life-size animatronic dinosaurs.
Forget "Land of the Lost" or "Jurassic Park," this is Jurassic, Triassic and Cretaceous!
We'll give you a minute to pull out the history books for that.
Imagine 200 million years of history, and 10 species of dinosaurs, including one terrifyingly realistic Tyrannosaurus Rex walking around amongst humans.
The largest of them, the Brachiosaurus, is 36 feet tall, and 56 feet from nose to tail. It took a team of 50 people, including engineers, fabricators, skin makers, artists and painters, and animatronic experts, a year to build the original production.

The show was a huge success when it stopped at Bridgeport's Harbor Yard last year, so don't miss it this time.
It will have you singing verses of "Everybody Walk the Dinosaur," the forgettable ‘80s song by Was (Not Was). (By the way, never actually read the lyrics, it will make your head implode.)
It’s a good thing the score of the show was composed by James Brett, whose work can be heard on soundtracks including 10,000 BC and Alien vs. Predator.

Opening night is Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. the show will run through Sunday, Aug. 9.
