Fairfield Man Injured at Vermont Swimming Hole

A Fairfield man was rescued in Vermont after falling 25 feet down a ledge at a swimming hole.

Elliot Reed, 63, broke several bones and suffered abdominal injuries on Saturday in Newfane, Vermont.

Rescuers had to use a basket to lift him up and then floated him across the Rock River on a body board before a helicopter flew him to Dartmouth-Hitchcoak Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, the Brattleboro Reformer reports.
