Fairfield Teacher Had Sexual Relationship with Student: Cops

Text messages between Glenn Mishuck and the female student revealed the relationship, police said

A Fairfield teacher was arrested Thursday morning on charges he had a sexual relationship with a student.

Glenn Mishuck, 47, of Bridgeport, turned himself in to police on Thursday.

Detectives began an investigation into Mishuck on Sept. 18 after receiving information about a possibly inappropriate relationship between Mishuck and a female student at Fairfield Ludlowe High School.

According to police, text messages between Mishuck and the student revealed a sexual relationship between the two. Mishuck engaged in at least 17 encounters with the girl from July to September, police said.

Some of the tamer ones police released from court documents include the victim writing Mishuck:

Victim: "I love you so much"  and "I need a hug."

Mishuck wrote back: "I would love to hug you!"

Police said the girl's father found the lewd texts while searching her phone after he became suspicious that his daughter was leaving for the gym so early in the morning.  After she told him about the relationship, he contacted the school.

Mishuck is charged with 17 counts of second-degree sexual assault. He was held on $150,000 bond and appeared in court in Bridgeport Thursday.

School officials said Mischuck resigned from his job as an English teacher on Oct. 7, but had been on paid administrative leave since the allegations against him first came to light on Sept. 18.

Mishuck was released on $150,000 bond on Thursday and is scheduled to be back in court on November 26.
