Families Welcome First Connecticut Babies of 2019

New Year’s Day 2019 is extra special for Connecticut parents who welcomed their newborns into the world today.

Maria and Gerardo Ramirez welcomed their son, Richard Eugene Ramirez, at Danbury Hospital just 22 seconds after midnight. Baby Richard is 8 pounds, 8 ounces.

Sharleene Russell, of Hamden, gave birth to the first baby of 2019 at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Her son was born at 12:54 a.m. and weighed in at three pounds, 10 ounces. He is Sharleene's fourth child and the hospital said the mother and baby are doing well. No photo has been released.

The first baby born at Hartford Hospital in 2019 is a baby boy named Kevin. He was born at 1:03 a.m., weighing in at 6 pounds, 15 ounces. He is 20 inches long.

His parents Briana and Kevin, of Hartford, are overjoyed to meet their New Year’s baby, according to the hospital.

Anna and Brian McNeil, of Bristol, are the parents of the first baby born at The Hospital of Central Connecticut in 2019.

Their daughter, Noelle was born at 1:16 a.m.

“We’re so excited to welcome our baby girl on New Year’s Day,” the parents said.

Noelle weighs 5 pounds, 12.8 ounces. She is 18.5 inches.

Matthew Joseph Coss was born one minute later, at 1:17 a.m., at UConn John Dempsey Hospital.

He weighed six pounds, 14.2 ounces and measured 19 inches. His parents are Heather and Joe Coss, of Burlington.

Corina Scott Mocaby was the first baby born at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital on New Year’s Day 2019.

She was born at 1:20 a.m. to mom Anne Endicott and dad Josh Mocaby.

She weighed in at 7 pounds, 13 ounces and is 19.5 inches.

The mom has had three boys and this is her first daughter.

At Midstate Medical Center, Charles and Alyssa Johnson of Meriden welcomed their first child, Penelope Quinn, at 1:24 a.m.
